Sacred Mask Dance of Hemis
Sacred Mask Dance of Hemis mirrors the famous Hemis Tsechu celebrated at Hemis Monastery near Leh. On 5–6 July monks honour Padmasambhava’s birthday with colourful cham dances portraying guardian deities. Devotees gather to watch the whirling costumes, listen to long horns and cymbals, and circumambulate the monastery.
