Seed Sowing & Cultural Exchange
This gathering commemorates Lui Ngai Ni, the Naga seed-sowing festival observed on 14–15 February in Manipur. Delegations from Tangkhul, Rongmei, Mao, Zeliang and other tribes converge at a common ground to bless the coming harvest and exchange dances, songs and stories. Elders light the first hearth fire, priests offer millet beer to the spirits and young performers showcase traditional attires. Visitors can learn about Naga weaving, bamboo crafts and herbal medicine and share in a feast of sticky rice, smoked beef and wild herbs.
