Valley Deity Parade

Valley Deity Parade captures the spirit of Kullu Dussehra, which begins after Dussehra elsewhere. For seven days starting on 2 October, hundreds of village deities are brought to Dhalpur Maidan in colourful palanquins, accompanied by Nati dancers, horns and cymbals. Devotees witness processions honouring the chief deity Raghunath Ji, participate in bonfire rituals and enjoy feasting, apple cider and local trout. Craft markets display Kullu shawls, silver jewellery and carved masks, while folk theatres narrate epics.
